Anthony J. Nocella, II is working on his Ph.D. at Syracuse University's Maxwell School and is also a professor at Le Moyne College in Criminology, Sociology, and Peace and Global Studies.  In addition, he teaches Life Skills at a New York detention facility and is the Senior Administrator for the Central New York Peace Studies Consortium. His interdisciplinary nature has ventured him to publish books and articles in numerous fields including environmental studies; criminology; critical theory; disability pedagogy and studies; conflict, security, and peace studies; philosophy of education; and globalization.  read more ...

Nocella Appointed to Three Boards
Recently during the summer Nocella was appointed to three boards, the New York Yearly Meeting Prison Committee, Alternatives to Violence Project New York State Board, and the American Friends Service Committee's Coperation

Nocella with Four other Editors Lock in a Book Contract with Routledge Press for an Anarchist Studies Reader
Anarchy in the Academy seeks to document the growing interest in anarchism as it is expressed through scholarly work. This interdisciplinary anthology will include noted scholars from around the world including, Dr. Steve Best, Dr. David Graeber, pattrice jones, Dr. Todd May, Dr. Mark Lance, Dr. Martha Ackelsberg, Dr. Paul Routledge, Colman McCarthy, and Dr. Joel Spring, to name a few. We seek to highlight the diversity of contemporary thought around anarchism, indicating the relationship between anarchist theory, critical pedagogy, and praxis.

Nocella Named to International Advisory Board
Anthony J. Nocella II, doctoral student in social science, has been invited to serve on the International Advisory Board of The International Journal on Inclusive Democracy (formerly Democracy and Nature). In short, inclusive democracy is a form of social organization which re-integrates society with economy, polity and nature. Past contributors to the journal include Doug Kellner, Peter McLaren, Noam Chomsky, Murray Bookchin, Janet Biehl, Henry Giroux, and Pierre Bourdieu. 4/4/07 from Maxwell Inside

Nocella Appointed Visiting Scholar at SUNY Cortland. Anthony J. Nocella II, doctoral student in Social Science who has been recently appointed to the Programming Committee of the American Friends Service Committee Regional Office of Upper New York, has been selected as the first Visiting Scholar of SUNY Cortland's Center for Ethics, Peace and Social Justice (CEPS) 2007-2008.
