Week 6 |
Updated Wednesday, 6 October
My apologies for not finishing the lecture today. I need to learn to pace myself better, a skill which will, I suppose, come with experience. Pennington will talk about Innocent III on Monday, when he returns, but since we will not have time to discuss Richard I and John and the Capetian kings of France, I will supply you with my own outline for today's lecture. You'll find it on my lecture supplements page.
The outline of Chapter 3 of Koenigsberger should be available on Thursday.
Updated Monday, 4 October:
General
Let me apologize once again for not answering your emails last week. You all took the time to write them, so I should have taken the time to respond. Mea culpa. I'll try to do better this week.
Your reading assignment for this week is Chapter 3 in Koenigsberger. I strongly recommend that you finish it and also get started on Chapter 4, which will be your reading assignment for next week. You will be responsible for all the material in Koenigsberger through Chapter 4 on the midterm exam.
We will do two things in section this week. First, we will talk about the papers. I will tell you what I expect on them and how to go about writing them. Later in the week I hope to post a supplement on writing your papers (as well as an outline for Chapter 3 in Koenigsberger). Second, we will begin our review for the exam. Please have outlines done for questions #2, #5, and #6. You can answer these questions.
Quiz
No quiz this week. In return, however, I'll expect to see completed outlines for the questions.
Email Assignment
There is no formal email assignment this week. However, if you don't have a question or anything to say, you must at least write to tell me that. (I guess that is an assignment after all.)
