Dave's Signalfanning Page![]() North Salina and Wolf Streets, Syracuse, New York. Genesis of this page I've always been interested in roads and signals. As a kid growing up near York, Pennsylvania (locator map), one of my favorite toys was a set of road signs (to which I added my own). I passed the time in school and church by drawing pictures of highways, intersections, and road networks. I always figured this was a little odd, but thanks to the Internet I know I'm not the only one! Many great pages will tell you everything you want to know about roads, from how long I-90 is in South Dakota to what the "End Pennsylvania Route 216" sign looks like. There's no point in building a web page if you don't have anything new to add. Traffic signals are less common. When I started signalfanning (a term I derived from railfanning) I spent a lot of time trying to learn the differences between signal types. Plus, it doesn't seem that anyone's documented the wide range of traffic signals in Eastern PA. Thus the genesis of the pages and links below.
