The multidisciplinary International
Relations (IR) Program is part of the Maxwell School of Syracuse
University, a school of public affairs with a long and distinguished
tradition of commitment to integrative education. The IR Program links
the Maxwell School's long-standing interest in contemporary global
problems with scholarly approaches to solving them.
The Professional M.A. Program combines a broad academic experience
with training aimed at preparing students for positions in the public
and private sectors.
The Ph D. Track prepares scholars in disciplinary and
inter-disciplinary perspectives on global socio-economic structures
and processes, and on their local counterparts.
These programs attract students from
around the world and utilizes the resources of various Maxwell
academic departments, multidisciplinary research programs, and the
Global Affairs Institute. Core faculty are
drawn mostly from Political Science, Economics, Public Administration,
Geography, Anthropology, History, Sociology, and the Program on the
Analysis and Resolution of Conflicts, PARC, as well as other
departments and programs at Syracuse University.
