MAXWELLIS, the Maxwell International Student organization, was
established in the fall of 2005. Acknowledging the growing number of
international students and the need to address their specific needs
at Maxwell, a group of Master in Public Administration students
decided to form an organization whose mission would be to empower
Maxwell international graduate/doctoral students worldwide. MAXWELLIS is open to all students at Syracuse University who share
this goal.
The organization has the following objectives:
• To provide a voice and safety net for international students in
the form of a representative council.
• To systematize information/research regarding linking to other
international student organization worldwide.
• To enhance career opportunities for international students at
Maxwell School of Citizenship and Public Affairs.
• To promote the Maxwell School of Citizenship and Public Affairs in
foreign countries.
• To organize social events with a cultural implication at Maxwell
School of Citizenship and Public Affairs.
• To create awareness and showcase our cultures by “Celebrating
Diversity.”
• To provide a forum for the presentation of innovative ideas that
benefits the University community.
To promote its objectives and mission, MAXWELLIS established the
Social, Academic and Professional committees. Each committee has two
chairs and a specific set of objectives.
